I'm Everything You Can't Control

Taken on 03.03.12. {cosmic chiffon outer from City Plaza, Topshop sleeveless button shirt, Bugis street denim hw shorts, gold chain-link bib necklace from flea market ($5 only!), Topshop tote bag (xmas gift from girlfrs), Topshop black lace socks.}

My lovely ex-colleague-cum-photograper.

I contemplated for a pretteh long time before I bought this outerwear. Why? Cuz the cosmic-print was everywhere online & in stores at town I felt it was too over-hyped though i loved how the print looked, i didnt wanna bump into someone else on the streets wearing the exact same print. But i finally gave in to my hidden desire to own a galaxy-printed item when i once again encountered this outerwear for the hundredth time but this time, at City Plaza, for just $25 bucks compared to $30-$40 online or in town. I love that it's sheer & thin so i can layer however i like without having to sweat like a dog, & how it's fashioned like a hybrid of a kimono & blazer so it looks soo good with a collared sleeveless shirt inside. I look lika preppy art student on acid minus the geeky hipster specs hehe. The only fault i find in this piece is the length of the back which is like neither short nor long so it does nothing flattering for my back-view except for the visually-appealing print. & thank god i haven't run into anyone else wearing this when i did.

Looking at this set of photos does make me miss the long mane & center-parting. I haven't posted a pic here of my cropped hair have i? Well i got bored & frustrated with the endless tangles & knots in my long hair & finally chopped them to my shoulders last month. A few days later i couldn't stand how much more mature i looked with the short hair so i grabbed a pair of scissors & chopped my fringe to bangs in the name of youth. Do i regret it? Hmm. I don't even like the word 'regret'.

The title of this post is a line from one of Evanescence latest song btw. Yes i love Amy Lee & the band since i was 11 & i still do. Their music accompanied me through my darkest days as a pre-teen & reason why i still listen to them is probably due to the shit mainstream music has become. Music like Evanescence's serves as a detox from the generic pop bull for me. &Amy's resonating vocals & emotional lyrical content never fail to tug at the hardest strings in my heart.

Until my next post, XX.
